Dignics 05 vs Dignics 09C — tension or tacky
Manufacturer figures
Butterfly official, 0-100Both products use the same manufacturer scale, so these figures can be read side by side.
What actually differs
The C in 09C stands for Chinese. It puts a tacky topsheet on a tension structure, bringing the feel of the rubbers Chinese players use into Butterfly’s line. 05 is a conventional tension rubber.
On the official figures 09C tops the range for spin and throw while sitting below 05 for speed. That pattern is typical of tacky rubber — it holds the ball to build spin and gives up initial pace in exchange.
In play the difference shows on serves and short balls. The tacky sheet lets 09C impart bigger variations in spin, and lifting heavy backspin feels clearly more secure. Driving through the ball, 05 is the faster of the two.
09C is also the harder of the two. A tacky sheet over a firm sponge means that, without a developed swing, the ball skids rather than grips. Of the pair, 09C is unambiguously the more demanding.
