Fan Zhendong ALC vs Super ALC — what the upgrade buys
Manufacturer figures
Butterfly official, 1-15Both products use the same manufacturer scale, so these figures can be read side by side.
What actually differs
This is a carbon grade step within the same signature line. Both are five-ply outer constructions; only the carbon material changes.
On the official figures Super ALC is higher in reaction — and in vibration as well, which is where it differs from the Viscaria pair. Viscaria Super ALC gained reaction while losing vibration; here both rise. The same material change behaves differently from model to model, so "Super ALC does X" does not generalise.
The price gap is substantial, placing the Super ALC version near the top of Butterfly’s range.
The name reflects that Fan Zhendong plays this model, though a player’s blade and the retail version are not always graded identically. Setting the name aside and reading only figures and price, the standard ALC is not short of anything unless you already need more reaction than it gives.
