Tenergy 05 vs Dignics 05 — what actually differs
Manufacturer figures
Butterfly official, 0-100Both products use the same manufacturer scale, so these figures can be read side by side.
What actually differs
Both use the same 05 pip geometry, so the way they generate spin is alike. What separates them is the sponge.
On Butterfly’s published figures Dignics 05 is higher in all three — spin, speed and throw angle. The throw gap matters most: a ball that arcs harder is a ball less likely to find the net. On numbers alone, Dignics wins outright.
But the hardness differs. Dignics 05 is firmer and needs a swing that compresses it. Tenergy 05 gives you spin even when the swing is slower, because the sponge yields first. So it is not "the better rubber" so much as "the rubber that asks for more input".
Given the price gap the decision splits cleanly. If you are on Tenergy 05 and find yourself short of power, Dignics is the answer. If instead your spin is inconsistent, that is a stroke problem rather than a rubber problem, and moving to something firmer will make it worse.
