Hurricane Hao
The classic 5-ply wooden blade Wang Hao used when he won the 2007 World Championships men's singles. Known for excellent control and high rebound.
About this product
The cheapest blade in the Hurricane line at ₩200,000, and entirely carbon-free — five-ply solid wood. At 5.6mm it is also the thinnest DHS blade on this list.
A thin all-wood blade flexes a long way and holds the ball. Hit hard and it does not fly; what you get instead is room to brush. That is what the all-round classification means here.
Chinese tacky rubber is already a slow-releasing rubber. Adding a low-return all-wood blade underneath puts the ceiling on power quite low. This combination pushes spin and stability as far as they go, and it is wrong for anyone who needs a finishing ball.
The gap to the carbon models (from ₩360,000) is a materials gap — essentially the cost of two sheets of carbon.
