Performance

XIOM IACT official (scale maximum not published)

The manufacturer does not publish a maximum for these figures. This chart therefore uses the actual range of its own published values across the same family as the ends of each axis. It shows relative position within that family, not an absolute score, and because the origin is not zero the differences look larger than they are. See the manufacturer figures below for the exact numbers.

About this product

The same koto five-ply, the same Zephylium carbon, the same 5.7mm and 83g as Hayabusa ZLX — but with the fibre inside, and ₩20,000 cheaper.

It is the one pair in this line that lets you compare outer against inner directly. Moving the carbon away from the surface lengthens the moment the ball spends pressed into the blade, and that moment turns into spin. What it costs you is immediate spring.

The lower price does not make it the lesser blade. Inner constructions are sometimes simply easier to build; the product is different in character, not below it. For a player who scores with spin, this is the higher choice of the two.

If you are on outer carbon and keep sending balls long, this is the move to make inside the same family — the feel of the wood does not change, so adapting costs little.

What the numbers say

Inner 5-ply Koto + 2 Zephylium-Carbon plies 5.7mm. Its catapult & click of 9.1 ranks 8 of 22 blades, on the high side. Its repulsion, by contrast, is 8.7 — on the low side. Based on the manufacturer’s published figures.
