Innerforce Layer ALC
An ALC blade with inner-force construction. Suits everyone from carbon beginners to intermediate players.
💡 Who this suits
Good reaction speed, well suited to attacking play, with a moderately crisp feel that works across a range of styles.
About this product
The same arylate-carbon, moved inside the blade. With the fibre further from the surface the ball sinks in and stays fractionally longer, so reaction drops and room to brush the ball appears in its place. The difference between this and Viscaria is one of character, not quality.
It ranks 30th of 45 Butterfly blades for reaction. That reads low, but the position is the point: if you score with spin, a blade that throws less lets the spin you generated survive.
It is clearly wrong for some players. If you finish points by pressing the ball early and flat, this will feel muted. If you want the blade itself to supply the power, look at the outer-carbon side.
Its character comes out when paired with a rubber that grips hard.
What the numbers say
Inner 5-ply + 2 ALC plies 5.9mm. Its reaction of 7.1 ranks 31 of 46 blades, on the low side. It is on the more flexible side. Based on the manufacturer’s published figures.

Where this blade sits
Reaction and vibration figures Butterfly publishes for 46 of its blades (official 1–15 scale). Further right means more reaction; higher means more vibration. Neither axis is "better" — they describe character. Other brands use different scales and are not mixed in.
