Fastarc C-1
The control type of the Fastarc series, delivering steady control from a balanced build while retaining speed and spin for delicate play.
About this product
The fastest of the Fastarc rubbers at 15.25, with spin of 12.25 — marginally below G-1’s 12.5.
At 35 degrees, or 45 on the German scale, it is the softest of the three. Getting this much speed from a soft sponge is what defines the rubber: it responds to a light stroke rather than requiring a heavy one.
That makes it well suited to the backhand, where the short swing struggles to compress a sponge deeply. A sponge in the mid-40s responds to that shorter action, which is why setups pairing G-1 on the forehand with C-1 on the backhand are common.
The softness does cap the power available. For a player looking to end points with the forehand it will feel short of what is needed.
What the numbers say
Inverted, 35° (45° German scale) sponge. Its speed of 9.2 ranks 6 of 23 rubbers, on the high side. The other axes sit at a similar level, so the profile is well balanced. Based on the manufacturer’s published figures.

Where this rubber sits among Nittaku inverted rubbers
Speed and spin figures Nittaku publishes for 14 of its inverted rubbers. Nittaku does not state a maximum, so read this as relative position within the family. Further right is faster; higher means more spin. Other brands use different scales and are not mixed in.
